PLAYER’S GUIDE
The set of rules that must be obeyed when communicating and participating in tournaments for the hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME.
These rules are established to ensure that more people can enjoy a fun experience through gameplay and informational exchange. Please read the following carefully.
* The Player's Guide will be updated as necessary.
* For those who wish to learn more detailed rules, please refer to the Floor Rules.
Manners and Rules of Conduct
Match etiquette
・Greet your opponent before and after the match.
・During the match, clearly announce your actions so your opponent understands what you are doing. Also, make sure to acknowledge your opponent’s announcements properly.
・If you wish to check your opponent’s cards, always ask for their permission beforehand. Likewise, if you are allowed to touch their cards, handle them with care.
・Do not hold your hand of cards in a position where your opponent cannot see them (e.g., under the table). Also, avoid loud or excessive hand shuffling.
・If you are watching a match at a tournament or event, please do so from the designated area and observe proper etiquette so as not to interfere with the match or event operations.
Defamation and offensive behavior
All individuals involved in the hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME—players, spectators, judges, organizers, event staff, store personnel, streamers, and program participants—must act with common sense and respect, regardless of whether within or outside the tournament or event area, including posts on social media, blogs, videos, and all other online platforms.
If we deem a participant to have performed acts of malicious defamation, slander, or other harmful behavior that could harm others, they may be removed from or denied entry to sanctioned/official events, have their eligibility to participate in official tournaments suspended, or be banned from events using BushiNavi.
【Examples of statements and actions considered defamation or harassment】
・Discriminatory remarks based on gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, disability, or sexual orientation
・Sexual harassment
・Disparaging or discriminatory comments about appearance, background, voice, or speaking style
・Excessive jeering or verbal abuse
・False statements or reports intended to harm others
・Acts of bullying
・Participating in or inciting defamatory behavior or speech (including posts on social media)
・Any other actions or remarks intended to cause harm or discomfort to others or the audience
Decks and Cards
Card abilities
Depending on when a card was released, the text describing the same ability may differ between cards. However, all cards are to be treated according to the wording listed in the official card list on the official website. Japanese Edition shall be the governing text.
Registering your deck
When you register your deck for tournaments that require deck registration, you may use a card of a different rarity to register as long as the card number is the same.
Game progression
Both players should ensure the game proceeds smoothly and fairly.
The following mistakes can make it difficult to undo or correct the game once the steps have progressed:
・Forgetting to set up your life at the start of the game
・Setting life referring to the incorrect card
・Forgetting to decrease life when required
・Forgetting to send cheer cards
・Forgetting to send holo Power
Card Sleeves
Sleeves are required for the Oshi holomem card and all cards in the deck and cheer deck.
The sleeves used for each deck must be uniform (identical for all cards within the same deck) and must be suitable for tournaments.
Different sleeves must be used for the deck, cheer deck, and Oshi holomem card. The Oshi holomem card may be placed in a plastic card loader.
If a judge determines that a player’s sleeves are inappropriate for competitive play, the judge has the authority to request the player to replace them. Players are required to follow the judge’s instructions and change their sleeves accordingly.
For further details, please refer to the Floor Rules.
【Examples of sleeves not suitable for competitive play】
(1) Using only transparent sleeves (excluding Oshi holomem cards)
→ Must be paired with opaque sleeves.
(2) Sleeves with excessive dirt, damage, or inconsistent wear that make some cards distinguishable
→ Please check the condition of your sleeves before participating in a tournament.
(3) Using more than four layers of sleeves
→ Limit sleeves to one to three layers.
(4) Highly reflective sleeves
→ Because reflected images may distinguish some cards, such sleeves are not allowed.
(5) Sleeves that do not fit the card size properly
→ Regular-sized opaque sleeves are recommended for the first (innermost) layer.
(6) Sleeves with patterns or wordings that obscure the text of the card
→ Sleeves that hide or make card information illegible must be avoided.
(7) Any other sleeves deemed unsuitable for competitive play by a judge
Supplies
When participating in a tournament, please prepare the necessary supplies required for gameplay.
Supplies may be substituted with other items, as long as both players agree.
Generally, items not required for the match should not be placed on the playing table. However, cases or containers used to hold supplies may be placed on the table and used during the game.
When using supplies, indicate clearly what each item represents.
<Use of supplies>
The use of supplies is limited to visualizing game information, such as values, value changes, targets, and effects based on card abilities. The use of supplies for the following purposes is not permitted:
・Using them to take notes
・Using them to track the position or number of specific cards
・Using features of electronic devices that are capable of communication or data transmission (e.g., phones, tablets)
・Using coins, bills, or items equivalent to currency
・Using excessively large items that interfere with gameplay
<Use of watches/timers>
To aid in smooth progress during matches, players are allowed to use watches or devices with timer functions.
When using such devices, please follow the general rules under “Use of supplies,” as well as the points below:
・Ensure all sound emitting functions such as alarms are turned off.
・Do not use your personal timer or watch to determine the start or end of a match independently.
* In official tournaments, time is managed by the designated timekeeper. Personal timers are for your reference only.
【Examples of supplies】
■Damage counter
Used to indicate the amount of damage a holomem on stage has received by placing it on top of the holomem.

■Die
Used when resolving card effects that include instructions to roll a die.
Please use a standard six-faced cube die with faces numbered 1 through 6.

■SP Oshi skill counter
This item is used to indicate whether the SP Oshi skill, an ability of your Oshi holomem that can only be used once per match, has been used.
At the start of the match, place the SP Oshi skill counter face up. Once you use the SP Oshi skill, turn the counter face down.

If you choose to use something other than the official SP Oshi skill counter, it must be an item that cannot be confused with cards on the playmat and must be agreed upon by both players before the start of a match.
Acceptable example:
Place a holomem not used in your deck into a card loader and set it face up on the playmat.
When you use your SP Oshi skill, turn the card face down.
* Since the holomem in the deck are sleeved while the SP Oshi skill counter is in a card loader, there is no risk of confusion.
Unacceptable example:
Placing your Oshi holomem in a card loader and using a different Oshi holomem (also in a card loader) as the SP Oshi skill counter.
